Show vs. Field Weimaraners

There is much talk among Weimaraner breeders on whether the strictly "show" breeders are ruining the breed by not emphasizing hunting instinct when choosing mates. The "Field" breeders are equally criticized that they do not put enough emphasize on conformation and looks when they breed and that "field" line dogs are "ugly".

Well, I spent alot of time studying the controversy and weighing the pro's and con's. I decided that a breeding program should produce great looking, conformationally correct dogs that are extremely birdy.

I went to work....breeding show to field lines and field to show lines, adding a special ingredient to the blend, and finally got the perfect weim.

This is my new line of Pheasaraner. It incorporates the beautiful look of the "show" weimaraner....and heck, you can tell how birdy it is by just looking at it!

This puppy is an example of a "blue dilute" and shows how weimaraners were used in Germany for all kinds of small game and deer, not just birds.

A special thanks and credit to "Leilahs Mom" for the animation and special bird effects.
